Few colour intensity difference between icons

When there is a new post since your last login in the forums, you'll notice a slight colour intensity difference (light blue versus somewhat less light blue) in the icons that are used. Sometimes it's hard to notice the difference, not only for elderly people.
To find your way on the forum it would be nice to at least see a very good noticeable difference between old and new posts.
Therefore my question: is it hard to change the icons for new posts into something more distinct?

Posting samples helps -your- discussion:

This forum software is ancient, shall be ancient, will remain ancient, as was recently reconfirmed by knreed (is now available in open-source launchpad, for anyone to maintain and improve).

Instead of relying on those forum or thread icons, I use the "Recent Thread" display sorted by Last Post Date / Descending, keeping a browser tab open on it. When I want to check for new posts of interest, I mentally note the date/time of the topmost Last Post, refresh the page, and check down the list as far as that date/time for subsequent new posts, opening each in a new tab for convenience - Ctrl-click on the "Last Page" icon (that's in Win/Firefox).

Re: Few colour intensity difference between icons

The icon coding system is complete dysfunctional ** when you set to erase cookies on tab / browser close. Everything shows as new, or opposed all read like on the index page there's only a on web support, where this thread is in, the rest is . (The Recent threads function is a rare plus that you find at very few other sites, does not exist anywhere else in the BOINC forums)

** dysfunctional appears as right, but feels as wrongly spelled in intend. /ot
