Re: ECD topic

On a personal level, that'll do me nicely - as SCC is very likely to be the very first project I'm going to stretch for that first Diamond badge (and I'm not even at Sapphire yet - so I've got someway to go).

I'm with you on this one gb009761. I was thinking that SCC was a very short project with not enough WU's to go around, but it looks like that will not be the case.

Re: ECD topic

So, after NYE recovery & some cold, here I'm with news:

The differences from last time:
- projects slipped: OET-HST for a month, SCC for several month (extension of data probably, no report from the techs & admins so far), MCM for a month but it's going to be extended further, ZIKA for 2 moths
- projects sooner: FAHB for a month (but it's going to be extended),
- MIP is still early to tell, based on 3%, only that this project is BIG.

Comment:
- Most factories, facilities, workplaces have been closed for a week or two. So this massive slip in moths is a result that most of our computers are not volunteers but "company managed PCs". As only 1 week without them, slips 1 month. Or to put it in numbers: there are 4x as many company owned PCs then it is private citizens!
- As most of our volunteers come from Christian world, so we can expect some of them got newer PCs, laptops & so on - over Christmas time. Those will be added, so some small portion of speed up is going to be probably seen on end of Jan. After that, we're back to normal pace...

Keep crunching, keep inviting. cool

Well the subject is VERY BIG: The human body contains trillions of microorganisms — outnumbering human cells by 10 to 1.

Just looking at today's (Jan, 9,2018) noon total of 48,840,087 completed work units and 3% finished would give a total of about 1,628,000,000 work units total in the project. That is a big total. Should be several more years of crunching at the current rates.
Cheers

Re: ECD topic

Yes that is huge. The whole subject has been a "Sleeper" branch of medicine but every article I read about in the normal press, it rings true. I watched a documentary that shows linkage of a poorly developed Biome to the epidemic of childhood allergies. Free range 1950's kids that not given antibiotics at the drop of a hat had good Biomic protection.

To get more exact number, you have to wait for switch to next percentage & then extrapolate from that. As we're now at 3,XYZ% of the job done & farther from 3,000%!

Yes, I know.. I was just giving the roughest of estimates to illustrate the scale of the project. The closer one would time the next estimate to the flip to 4% would be more accurate.

Did a quick calc. Try around 20.01.2018.

Re: ECD topic

Any calculation based on data from the research page is suspect. By the tech's own admission, the research page isn't very accurate but the best they have at this point. They were supposed to come up with something else at the end of last year but it must not have percolated to the top of the list. Garbage in, garbage out.
