Have the makers of this forum software finally passed the pipe to martin?

Both the links at bottom of the forum praising the manufacturers have gone dead, or end in a generic hoster message. That said, the software is found at Sourceforge open Source, so maybe WCG could do the 'Open source' thing and pull the interface into the 21st century.

Re: Have the makers of this forum software finally passed the pipe to martin?

I'll pull those footer items out in a future release since they are now dead links.

Sourceforge only has minor release newer than what we are running on. I don't think there was much in that release if I remember correctly (if you found some documentation on that I'd be happy to look).

It would be a pretty significant effort to update the MVNforum software UI so that is probably something that we won't do (especially since there is no one working on the code now so it will likely disappear in time).

But we do have a big project in front of us to address the forums - it is just a big project and finding the time to address it remains a challenge (unfortunately).

Here's an old bug (only now realized), if a post is made which in alternation gets a white background, and has a post-quote in it, the quote gets a pinkish background, to highlight. If the post has a pinkish background and has a quote in it, the quote has... pinkish background, where Spock-logically, a white background would be used for highlighting.

A second post with quote to demonstrate...

Hi Sek,

This task has been added to our backlog.

Thank you,

Erika, how far back your log goes, don't wanna know, but the baggage handlers at JFK would probably go under were each item a suitcase ;O)

What we need is an up AND down vote function. I've voiced my opinion before on these posts that just have +1 (and of course the full post quote that's been voted on, so we get to read what we already read).
