The Help Stop TB project just reposted their March 2016 article on the project on Facebook. I think that I have posted it before, but I did it again with their July 21 update and information from the Project Details.
----------------------------------------I think that it is important for all WCG projects to post news and information on their projects and scientists in social media, Facebook and RSS feeds as a way of freely getting the word out on their work. WCG is a wonder of scientific research. It deserves to be bigger than 524.146 TeraFLOPS (BOINCStats). Here is a link to my blog post so that people see what can happen. I have about 1,000 readers around the world, all with computers and mostly not even knowing that WCG exists. https://sciencesprings.wordpress.com/2016/08/...lp-stop-a-leading-killer/ Check out this video from Folding@home which I just found on Facebook. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sJx9z1uB9k ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by mitrichr at Aug 10, 2016 10:03:49 PM] |

Just a suggestion, may I propose you collect all your sciencespring posts in a single thread... it will make it easy for readers to then also revisit your previous announcements of your blog updates.
On TFlops, WCG's own assessment (and mine) is, we're double that, ~1 Peta as the points awarding per unit of time here is just over half of the official SETI reference, so this is what it is... http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q210/Seker...FLperCPUYear.png~original |

Thanks for your suggestion, but it looks to me that this post of mine was moved from the thread "Help Stop TB project update - July 2016", as that was what the WCG post in FB was all about. I do not generally post project specific items in a Chat Room.
----------------------------------------My aim is to help maximize the efforts of each WCG and BOINC project to reach out to all of the digital world. So I boost each project as they make their own effort. I cannot make any comment about the difference in TFlop measurements. I would normally suggest that you or someone from the main WCG team get together with BOINCStats to straighten out the differences, but from what I understand there is no love lost between WCG and BOINCStats. That is a shame, as each is incredibly important to the BOINC community. |

My blog stats tell me that a number of people responded to the blog post by paying a visit. I appreciate their interest.

BOINCstats just programmed what's written in the official BOINC wiki, not assessing if the granting system really does what it's supposed to do i.e. what's printed on the can is not in the can.
My understanding has always been there's no love between http and https, latter being the WCG requirement and allowing BOINCStats (and any others like GridRepublic) to write to the location profiles. Just picture what could be done if you could get into Willy's system. Did not know/see your post was moved, still consider to collect your posts in one thread as a blog series. |

WCG's constraints are to be admired, not matched in other BOINC projects.
----------------------------------------One thing that bothers me about WCG and BOINCStats is that WCG projects are all grouped. I believe that they should each be on their own. Is this grouping on the part of WCG or is it done by BOINCStats? |
