Re: Servers VS Desktops

Everything was installed to electrical code. As stated in the post "..new 20 amp dedicated circuit.." which implies new wiring (12 gauge wire). If the wall plugs go higher it is probably to handle unexpected surges not continuous amperage draw over the rating for an extended period of time.

Re: Servers VS Desktops

Well I'm running a Dell Poweredge T110 ii / Intel Xeon e3 1240 v2 @ 3.4Ghz and only sipping an amazing 68W of power Maxed out while running 8 threads which I consider to be very energy efficient 5 years ago a chip like this would consume that much power at idle!. The onboard graphics Matrox eWG200 8mb of vram is very bad but I guess this is an intentional design factor where energy efficiency is the No 1 priority I think it only consumes about 4W of power for the graphics. This is meant for a small business server very quiet and energy efficient no onboard sound either lol probably total power consumption from the wall socket is approx 100W! seen a youtube video of someone testing this machine with a watt meter installed.
