My community grid doesn't work. I get the message of "No task Running" but it never kicks into any project. This started happening after Microsoft's latest upgrade and wonder if that has something to do with it. I downloaded the application again but no effect. It still says no task running. There must be something I need to do; any suggestions?

Hit Ctrl+Shift+E and read the Event log. Copy paste them in a reply if you cant figure out what it all means to get going again.

Hi all, same for me...got no task for a new instaled client on a new powerful laptop.
Tried to set up the cpu and mem limits higher without success. Added another project to the boinc client with much more pre reqs and it works fine... Here you are: "Suspending GPU computation - computer is in use" ... and ... "Requesting new tasks for Intel GPU".
----------------------------------------There isn't a GPU app available for the time being on WCG. All WCG apps require using your CPU(s) at this moment. [Edit 1 times, last edit by adriverhoef at May 30, 2016 1:55:34 PM] |

Going by the event log, the hint is that no CPU work is being requested, i.e. maybe in the device profiles you've set not to receive those?

...removed the project from BOINc and connected again...it loads some projects but did not start them...and do not show them as loaded and "suspended"...
Tried some modifications on the web as on the local config-file (via GUI) but nothing changed...fresh install of the BOINC client as well...no change.. |

Go Settings on the website > Device Manager > Device Profile > Custom [if not already ticked] and look for "Allow research to run on my CPU?" The option is supposed to say 'Yes'. Check this on all your device profiles. If some set 'No', change it to 'Yes and go back to the client and select WCG in the project tab, and hit update. Wait 2 minutes, and repeat update, then hit Crtl+Shft+E [for Windows], and copy / paste the whole event log again.
