Short and sweet question.
----------------------------------------I see that IBM have developed Quantum Processors that have the potential to revolutionize computing power to levels thought previously unatainable. I hear they are also allowing anyone access to one on the web by invitation. Could these have a profound effect on our work for WGC and find solutions to them far quicker than previously envisaged. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Of course, it would be "virtually instantaneous" processing. Don't know if interfaces will slow it down yet though...

IBM wants you to test drive its quantum computer

hmmm, so happens QuTech of Delft [Netherlands] just found a solution to the uncertainty problem... "in 10 years a 'maybe' workable solution", the EU investing a billion Euro into sponsoring development.

I might be wrong about this but I think quantum computers are mainly geared toward certain classes of problems like say NP-complete. Running through all possible combinations simultaneously doesn't help you when something needs to be processed linearly.

It'll probably be "Bubble Memory" all over again...

You know that Quantum Computers have been around for 2000 years? The abacus gives the answer instantly after the problem is "punched in". No computer built is faster...
