Random ReBoots

My Win 10 8 core AMD FX8150 has had random reboots...only when running the TB project...am wondering why....
Plenty of memory and processing power...

Re: Random ReBoots

There's some discussion of bottlenecking in this forum and some speculation of CPU on-board caches being overloaded, causing reduced efficiency > more overflow into slower RAM. Anyway, don't know if this leads to higher CPU temps, but you might want to check that out.

At this time there's no new work [not had any for 24 hours], so running out.

Re: Random ReBoots

I'm running some 12-cores (6+6HT) with HST1 only. Boincmanager shows close to 100% efficiency.

Same here with Win10, 8 Core Intel Xeon, 16GB Ram.....

Uninstalling everything is ok.... Install TB again --> Reboots.....curious.

I have an 280mm radiator with push and pull and the temp is below 70c so my guess it's not a temp problem.

Now I have ended TB and now the frezzing have stopped.

Re: Random ReBoots

What's the FPU to Core ratio in your CPU?

Are you overclocking?

Re: Random ReBoots

It's an AMD 8350 so 4 FPU and 8 Cores.
I have been running it @ 4,6GHz 24/7 for 3 years with no problems (except a couple of times during summer when it got too hot in my computer room). The computer have been donating more than 22 years of CPU time.

Re: Random ReBoots

Well, eventually with overclocking you'll find a science that does get unstable ** with pushed limits. Up to you to try at standard or more moderate OC if things turn fine (it often does).

(Before asking, did look for rates and voltages for your CPU, there's enough on Google it appeared).

** Rather, the science app causing the CPU to go unstable. There's truly no harder workout for a CPU/System than DC computing.

Re: Random ReBoots

Yes, I know science app pushes the system. So the solution for the time being is to enable TB for my other computer and wait and see if you guys finds any bug in TB app before enable TB on this computer.
