Based on my experience - in particular with CEP/CEP2 - I did not notice any significant differences between HDD and SSD operated systems.
I had 2 hosts - Phenom II x6 with Ubuntu 10.04 - over 4 years long only with SSD with a CPU efficiency >99.x%.
The same hosts are since 1 year with HDD and Ubuntu 14.04 with a similar efficiency (>99.x%).
The only difference is by applying system updates and rebooting.
