My attempt at fixing the problem on Ubuntu 14.04 was to manually download and install the new certificate:
sudo wget -O /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/thawte_primary_root_ca.crt https://www.thawte.com/roots/thawte_Primary_Root_CA.pem sudo dpkg-reconfigure ca-certificates (source: http://askubuntu.com/questions/73287/how-do-i-install-a-root-certificate) Nothing uploaded for the past hour, but the error seems to have changed (now it seems to be "transient HTTP error". I hope this might be useful to someone. |

Update your Openssl if on Debian (don't know if this applies to Ubuntu, but since I did not have issues on 14.04 LTS with the 4.2.0 LTS kernel pack inserted last week, it hardly seems to be applicable to up-to-date systems) |
