Yesterday, I received my weekly email digest.
Two of the items in the email (about the Zika virus) were in Spanish. What's that all about? |

Actually, one is Portuguese and the other Spanish. They are directed at researchers, not us. Basically says WCG is here with lots of crunchers ready to help with Zika research.

Is the American expression not "it's all Spanish to me" (or was it Greek) ;?

Zika is mainly affecting Latin America so Portuguese and Spanish articles were posted.

Yesterday, I received my weekly email digest. As has been mentioned, there is an English, Spanish and Portuguese version of the same Zika article. By offering different translations of this News article, we are hoping to reach more people. In the future, we hope to offer much more translated content and we will be reviewing the way the translated content is delivered. Two of the items in the email (about the Zika virus) were in Spanish. What's that all about? Thank you for your support, ErikaT |

I suspect that most members will not want 3 (or more) copies of the same article in different languages sent to their email. Same goes for the NOTICES tab in the BOINC client

Yes Doneske, this calls for either or and language preference settings on the Communication and My Profile pages. (Think the language pref for the website is cookie driven and does not have Portuguese on it [If it would, the Germans will be next in queue after the Dutch to demand addition, not to speak of the Italian ;P) |

Well, if this gets added to the infamous "to do" list we won't have to worry about it for a loooooong time...
If it does get worked on, then I have to ask the obvious question as to why there was time to work on this particular item but there is never time to work on the items that members have requested years ago? |
