Donating money

A lot of people have posted in the hardware forum about buying computers just to run wcg. I wondered whether centralising monetary giving might have better results? Could wcg use donations to hire cloud cloud computing power from Amazon or to run an advertising campaign? Would this do more good than individual members buying up cheap computers?

Re: Donating money

Nice idea, but...those funds would have to be transparent!

But, why would IBM do that? When it has Blue & Watson or similar clouds...if IBM wanted, it could give some portions of their cloud to their own charity - WCG! So far, we haven't see that...

About money donations, so far IBM is funding WCG...so why donate there?!
But you can donate to BOINC, 'cause it hasn't got funding right now...& very soon BOINC will accept even crypto-currencies! Maybe I'll give back up to 10% back from my Gridcoin endeavor to BOINC then...& when WCG asks, maybe it will also get some funding...
