Re: TEAM: Fans of "The Register" JOIN Vulture Central III now! Part 2

Say goodbye to Harry. He sees some green grass out there somewhere. We may never know.

He hadn't posted anything at all but was #3 in overall team storage.

Re: TEAM: Fans of "The Register" JOIN Vulture Central III now! Part 2

Hey retsof ... too bad about the grief over the stats. I never thought it was a big deal, but apparently others think different.

Stats are no big deal, and they keep the thread current! Maybe we can just tweak the output? Maybe just the top three senders, and team totals?

Anyway, I leave it to you, and I understand if you don't want to bother anymore. My stats have been down lately, but I'm picking up some new ones to counteract that loss. So, they'll be up again soon!

Keep going team .... I am constantly amazed at the results we turn in considering our size.

It did serve as a way to bump up the messages. not talking

The small senders felt like the statistics was spotlighting their inactivity, and listing the top three would make them feel unimportant. Loss of three sending members dropped our totals somewhat. I may do some team-only stats again.

We'll take anything we can get. Even Trevor sends something every week or two.

Most new members also don't seem to find the team area until they are already ON a team, and we're not supposed to recruit anywhere else.

It's difficult to figure out what to put in a data report, if it only makes others quit. They may also never tell us until it's too late for changes. If they have already quit, it doesn't make any difference. That in itself could be another statistic.

#963 to #1070 zero points, and still setting up or crunching

I'm picking up some new ones to counteract that loss.
AMD if you have a choice... They really fly through these workunits.

Hey Rets, keep your chin up biggrin

I agree about the AMD's - for pure crunching they seem way ahead of the comparable Intel offerings. Easier to overclock as well wink

Absolutely. This ASUS A8NE mobo comes with overclocking monitoring software, overclocking setups in the BIOS and more instructions in the manual. I'm running at stock clocking, but did run it through another Nvidia tuning program that came with it.

Re: TEAM: Fans of "The Register" JOIN Vulture Central III now! Part 2

I agree that team stats are a good way to go. Helps us track progress ... bumps the thread .... and doesn't single out anybody. We can always go to stats-free anyway.

Yes ... welcome tangriffin! Glad you have joined us.

I do nothing but AMD machines, so that's usually what I have running :)
