Valid credit given with only .89 hours? Can a tech take a look at this?

The first occurrence of this job ended with only 0.89 hours and with no version listed. Only 38.3 points were issued. Did this job really give the correct answer? This job belonged to someone other than me.

I was then sent the 2nd occurrence of this job which I completed in my normal 10.80 hours and a submitted points of 356.6 which is typical. I was only given 38.3 points matching that of the first job.

I've not seen this behavior before. Is this common or correct?

That is the right file. It looks normal. the time is right for 10.8 hours. If there is nothing for the other file that is very strange. Probably something for the techs or the scientists to look into. Too bad the st_derr.txt file does not exist for the short one.

Continuing to crunch FAH2.

I suppose if this does not get resolved, I still get credit for hours and results, but it is a shame to lose 317.8 BOINC credits. crying

I first thought that maybe there's a bug in the validator that treated the wingman as valid by mistake but looked deeper. The job ran for about 54 minutes on the wingman's machine. That's 3240 seconds which is about the amount of CPU time it took the job on your machine to send the first trickle, Isn't there a reason a FAH2 job can end on a trickle and not continue?

It would have been treated as an outlier. Normally, the points granted is an average of the first two valids but if the difference is great enough, you get the average of two other valids (just the wingman in this case).

Edit: May have a possibility why the wingman stopped crunching the wu but was stll valid: see http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,38432_offset,83

Can't prove it without the wingman's long gone event log.
