[Resolved] No Tasks for VMs

Running 1CPU 1GB RAM ubuntu 14.04 VM on ESX.

installed boinc client via apt-get
configured the client using my account key. able to register:

detached and re-attached, still the same.
re-provisioned 3 other VMs, same problem.
bumped memory to 2GB, still no tasks.

As another thread mentions about even log, not sure where it is in ubuntu.
only found this file might be mean something:

The file containing the 'Event' log is stdoutdae.txt. Content of this is the number one source for diagnosing core client [daemon] problems.

Some other people having this issue while the share is less than 100, while I am 100.

I have also made sure that the preference on my WCG account for this computer is set to Max.

Some other posts from different boinc client sites suggested to clear the cache, which I could not locate the location?

On the device profile for school, make sure under the Processor Usage section that "Allow research to run on my CPU?" is set to Yes.

I recreated the profile, and made sure it was checked. it fixed the problem!
