Can BOINC use more than one disk to store its data?
If it can, how do i tell it to? |

I don't know how to set up a raid configuration and i don't want to combine the whole disks, i just want Boinc to use the free space many disks, not just the free space on one disk.

If you are operating Linux, you should use LVM for merging and extending the available free space you wish to devote to boinc. A similar approach should be possible on Windows as well.
----------------------------------------In all cases, since operating systems enable different ways to abstract available disk resources, it is better to take advantage of it instead of implementing such an approach on application level (i.e. boinc). Cheers, Yves |

Unfortunately i'm on windows 7. I've tried looking into symbolic links, but they don't seem to do what i need.
I don't know how to make windows 7 use more than one drive for a folder, in this case the Boinc folder. I thought that maybe there's a way for Boinc to use more then one folder for its data. |

Let me repeat myself:
" i don't want to combine the whole disks, i just want Boinc to use the free space many disks, not just the free space on one disk." |

Let me repeat myself: " i don't want to combine the whole disks, i just want Boinc to use the free space many disks, not just the free space on one disk." then, NO! only 1 disk used! but you can pick which one?! ![]() |

Let me repeat myself: " i don't want to combine the whole disks, i just want Boinc to use the free space many disks, not just the free space on one disk." OK, try this solution. You can assign your BOINC folder to a spanned dynamic volume which will use your unused space on multiple disks. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772180.aspx. Cheers

So Boinc can only ever use one folder and windows can't use more then one disk/drive/volume for a folder.
Why can't computers ever do what i want them to? |
