Help Conquer Cancer (brief) project update, January 2016

Hello World Community Grid volunteers,

Right now I'm working with my co-researcher, Mike Tsay, to prepare work units for our active project on World Community Grid, Mapping Cancer Markers.

Our primary remaining goal for the Help Conquer Cancer project, which ran on World Community Grid for more than five years, is to start preparing our results to be submitted for publication. We are planning to write a paper (perhaps more than one), but we have several large data analysis steps to complete first. World Community Grid members generated more than 500 million results for this project.

We'll have more updates as we continue to work with data from both projects. Thank you for your participation!

Hi Christian,

Is this work preparation for the Ovarian Cancer you mentioned last year as being switched to?

(And to anticipate the usual suspect(s) racing in to ask: Got an indication of how many batches these would be, and, if those batches are of same sizes as before.)

Yes, this work is preparation for the Ovarian Cancer work units. We do not have the estimated batch numbers or sizes just yet.

Re: Help Conquer Cancer (brief) project update, January 2016

Lung cancer work units will run through batch 0022277 and then Ovarian cancer will start with batch number 0122278 (not a typo).
