If you're talking about the kind with GeForce 4 MX integrated GPUs, then no, they're too old for GPU crunching. IIRC, GeForce wasn't really capable of much GPU computing until around the 8000 series. If you are ever in doubt about a particular GPU model and BOINC, you can check WUprop to see what projects people are successfully using with them.

Try to find someone thats put together allot of computers. PC's made by Dell, HP, etc are not to greatest built to stay on 24/7. A home built PC built right would handle WCG and other grid computing projects with ease.

I beg to differ!

Dell, Lenovo, FujitsuSiemens & Toshiba are (mostly) well built laptops...which can crunch 24/7!
I use them myself...
