Hello,
I forgot to mention: The Linux system of the ondroid is on a so called ODROID-XU3 eMMC 5.0 Module. Maybe this is significant. Thanks again for any help MS |

Don't know what you expect, but it's either Linux with Intel x86 or x64 CPU coding or Android with ARM CPU. Linux on ARM is not a supported combination, just as the error message says.

Hello,
my answer is not totally precise. It will not be possible to switch the odroid form Linux to Android. If I want to run Android instead of Linux, I will have to buy a new MME Module. To be honest, I would prefer runing the Odroid just as it is now, i.e. With Linux. Does anyone know a distributed computation project accepting Odroids driven by Linux? I know that there are projects not hosted by Worldcommunitygrid but only on their onwn websittes. A list of these can be found here: https://www.rechenkraft.net/wiki/Projekt%C3%BCbersicht Of these projects, I tried POEM, but it did not work, computation error. So: Could anyone point me to a project acceptin Ondroids with Linux, pleas? Thank you once again. MS |

No idea - you should check the "applications" page on every boinc project till you something like an ARM app for Linux.
----------------------------------------For example - http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/apps.php - that project has 1 ARM app for Linux. But it is not a CPU-intensive project. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz [Edit 1 times, last edit by Falconet at Dec 26, 2015 2:55:53 PM] |

Hello Martin,
If you cannot buy Android pre-installed on the emmc card, you can install Android onto a much less expensive micro-SD card (and I think that there is a switch on the Odroid to select boot media). I purchased Android pre-installed for my XU4, so have not actually tried the installation. This link is for the XU3, but may be helpful for the XU4. http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=3302 |
