What has happened to Sony VAIO?
There has been a steep drop-off in their results to nothing in the last twenty days.

E.g. the Vaio (Squirrel-skin) if have, has lots of Sony loaded customization on it to the point that updating of the screen-driver is plain impossible, but for hacking working driver on. Maybe they did something in their updates to break things [security software, the certificate update needed to meet the required SHA256 encryption]. A wild guess. Nothing on Google?

Hi and welcome

The preinstalled software cannot be downloaded. The only way you can get this software is to UPGRADE to Windows 7.

If you do a clean install of Windows 7 you will lose this software.

From the testing we've done, World Community Grid should continue to work following a standard upgrade to Windows 10.

If anyone is having issues with World Community Grid after having upgraded to Windows 10, please contact us with details as we would need to investigate.

Side note: Sony is no longer in the business of making/selling laptops.
