but research done on that publication in '12 has been done on a current processor that u can find on WCG & r within an average speed of WCG! wink

Re: Power consumption, data & research

We haven't heard from damir1978 about cold fusion lately. Maybe KLiK could work that into his hypothesis.

You just had to bring that up. Things were going so well.......... There is a theoretical maximum number of conspiracy theorists that any one website can handle (ie: be subjected to)

Re: Power consumption, data & research

some figures for Thermal design power here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_CPU_power_dissipation_figures

& also some tests about a difference between a idle & peak power systems:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cpu-performance-comparison,3370-17.html

as stated in other topic, there is no "spare power" after Intel has introduced SpeedStep & Turbo technology to it's CPUs...those procesors use quite a big amount of power, when working on 100% of their speed (peak power)!
so lets talk here about a power consumption...
cool

first of all: YAWN

Second. Spare power is when a nuclear reactor is running at 70% of capacity. Spare cycles is when a computer CPU is running and has moments when it is not running full speed. I recommend you research the modern CPU for a fuller understanding. My i5 runs at about 95% idle when WCG is inactive. laughing
