routine to change password (forgotten) is...asking current password

So, i can still log automatically, but if i try to log manually, i can't, and when using the link to create a new password, it asks for the current one :)

Instead of using the link to create a new password, at the Log In dialog box there is a "Forgot password?" link. Use that. After entering your Member Name, you get "Please click on the 'Request password reset' button and a link to reset the password for your account will be emailed to you". Does that work for you?

I tried that. It sends me an e-mail with 2 links. Both send me to the log-in screen again which asks the current password. Am i doing something wrong ? Does the same happen to you ?

Re: routine to change password (forgotten) is...asking current password

Could be a case of the Browser Cache/Cookie monster pollution. In your [?] web browser somewhere there are options to empty both, then exit the web-browser and start it again. (Mine are actually emptied automatically on exit). Breaks the tracing by websites for the most part, but that's something I could not care less about. It's their tracing against my privacy.

[ot]Regrettably there's new cookie technology that makes cookies very hard to erase [cookies not needed so to speak]. One addon for FF to help in that is BetterPrivacy, but as it is, finding several where no matter the erasing of caches, on next exit/restart visit I'm finding still to be logged in.[/ot]

Re: routine to change password (forgotten) is...asking current password

Maybe the internet does not like you. Tested the password forgotten, and got a mail with a link, which clicked, got me to a page with no question on old password:
Log In Manager

Password Format Requirements:
Projects History6 characters minimum (alphanumeric: A-Z, a-z, 0-9)
Projects History15 characters maximum
Projects HistoryNo "special" characters (!@#$%^&*_+=:;, etc...)

New Password:
Confirm New Password:

One thing I did find, if you're logged in already, it *does not work*! You have to sign out if auto-signed in to reset.

Carefully read password limitations. If you type something longer than 15 characters, it will only remember the first 15. Next time you try to log in with something longer, it fails [because only the first 15 are stored].

ok, thanks, problem solved. It was because i was already logged in automatically and then logging manually doesn't work (as you said).

Re: routine to change password (forgotten) is...asking current password

We have updated the website and improved the passwords (we will post a formal news post in a bit). The fields for password will no longer silently discard characters that are longer than the maximum. You will get a proper error message. We have also expanded the max length of the password to 32 characters.

Kevin, thanks for fixing that... it seems that you also fixed the bug where the "Log in" option was sometimes "Sign out" at the same time on different pages. applause
