Some excellent graphical proof of relations we see, but are utter crock:
http://www.fastcodesign.com/3030529/infograph...relation-isnt-causation#6 . Oil imports from Norway and railway-car collisions in the US superbly matching or divorces in Maine... just stop buttering your bread with Margarine and your marriage is safe. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for this insight!
----------------------------------------[politically incorrect mode]To my mind, this could be true also for the correlation between CO2 concentration in the atmosphere and global temperature: Once I've been auditor to a presentation of a climate scientist. Another auditor, professor for physics at the technical university of Munich/Germany, asked about this very problem between correlation and causation in respect to these two subjects. It was a surprise that the scientist had to apologize his incapability to give the right answer because to his knowledge there is no proof of rising global temperature caused by rising CO2 concentration. (The other direction seems to be explicable: rising temperature would cause rising ocean water temperature and hence rising CO2 concentration in the atmosphere.) [/politically incorrect mode] EDIT: correction of verbal expression, sorry ![]() ![]() Ask not what the world can do for you - ask what you can do for the world. Or like one managed to insert on these forums, we still don't know what gravity is [though on gravity and stars we manage to fly robots to Pluto and Ceres. Sorry guy, but science works by elimination in many cases, and 99.999% has been eliminated of the knowns, which leaves us hind-legged walking specimens. Maybe you can come up with a Dan Brown particle offsetting what we know. Join LHC, they're on track to discover several new bosons and the pentaquark... theorized about several decades ago, 51 years ago to be precise.
----------------------------------------(Worked for 30 years in a earth/physics science company and we darned well knew how to measure it very accurately and proof the 'blanket' working of CO2 and the acidification of the oceans slowly preventing the key oxygen separating plankton to work. Exxon knew by 1980 as came out from papers that 'snug out' recently). Like tobacco, and now the sugar lobby too, the vested interest is enormous to not have it true. That's fact of live... the intelligence and intellect of humanity is rapidly dumbing down). edit, closing bracket [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 26, 2015 10:57:04 AM] |

Lining us up not to believe what our eyes can see Sek ;-)
