No redeeming, no redemption. Unless an external benefactor sets up a reward system [there was one who quickly found it to be too expensive], in real or virtual pecunia nothing to 'earn' in real life off points. We just get a kick accumulating them ad infinitum and sticking badges on the side of our forum posts.

Most importantly though, this is our way of volunteering to large scale research, who's output by the rules must be made publicly available [copies can be request but that is at cost of the media it's stored on]. This research would otherwise -not- be possible.
