Why is this project asking for more room on my Disk? The computer is set to give BOINC over 20GB but the project is asking for 500MB and reports I have 0MB! What is going on?

Sometimes the BOINC installation has been done to a 'shared' folder in which there's not only BOINC data. The client counts everything in there including sub-folders.
----------------------------------------Default on Windows the directory is something like C:\ProgramData\BOINC [With a service install it is for sure]. At any rate, the path where your client data is, is printed at start of the event log after a boot. Follow that path in the file explorer, right click on the BOINC folder and hit properties. That will tell how much is actually in the data structure. Edit: In BOINC Manager, Advanced view, there's also the Disk tab. It tells how much each project, and BOINC in total thinks is being used. My WCG project folder indicates 438MB with a 1 day cache and 8 jobs running. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 25, 2015 9:52:06 AM] |

See thread below, maybe relevant?
----------------------------------------In program data\boinc\slots\slotnumber either there were extra slot folders created and/or some of the folders had huge files in them that could be deleted. In my case. back then I saw it on a couple of my machines, deleted the files and all was good... https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,37993 ![]() |

Upcoming v7.6 should take care of that, better slot file cleaning [those VM files too].

Follow the path where the BOINC data dir is [printed in Event log after a startup]. Something is using 80GB
USED BY OTHER PROGRAMS = 80.67 GB As noted before, the BOINC data dir should be exclusive. This reads like it's being shared by much more. A quick workaround is until you've figured it out is to set BOINC to allow use of say 90GB. |
