How can I learn about "tasks', "points" etc?

After several years participating in WCGrid I'd like finally to understand the points-accounting system.

Can someone tell me he best place here to learn the meaning of terms such as "tasks", "points", etc.?

I frequently get pop-ups on my pc that say "xx.x % completed on your computer." where xx.x is something like 64.4 and increases over time. I assume that these are WCG messages, right? What does the 64.4% refer to?

Hi all.
Can you tell me where I can exchange the accumulated points on cryptocurrencies because ripple is not currently supported projects OGK distributive computing and new user registrations suspended...

Gridcoin is/was another system where you could get cryptocurrency for BOINC contributions, but it sounds like they're pretty much in a downward spiral at the moment. Either way, there isn't/wasn't any way that you could "exchange" points. For Ripple, you needed to be a member of their team at WCG. With Gridcoin, you had to be a member of their team, and run their software alongside BOINC. Both of them only awarded the currency for gains after you joined their program.
