Sorry for being so NA-centric. But with about 1/8th of the membership registered in that area, the results could have taken a hit (like they often do on Saturdays and Sundays).
I won't mention anything for Casmir Pulaski day, if that makes you feel any better. ![]() |

Casmir Pulaski was a Polish Patriot and American Revolutionary hero, who was born 4th March 1747 in Podolia. He fought in the revolt against Russia's control of Polish political affairs, he could not defeat the Russians and left for Paris ( France) broke and looking for employment. While in Paris, he heard of the American Revolutionary War. In 1775 he travelled to America and contacted George Washington who made him a member of his military staff. Pulaski experienced sucess at the Battle of Brandywine, but this led to his own decline in his military career, but he still commanded his own cavalry troop. His final heroic charge took place in Savannah where he was mortally wounded. He died on board the American ship wasp. The exact date is not known, but was probably 11th October 1779. Nelsoc, remind me to send you a list of European Holidays, we make up 1/8th of the membership as well. ![]() P.S. Nice one viao! |

Why Canada has even opted out of the Jerry Lewis Telethon...... We prefer our own.... ![]() |

You can find a complete list of European National Holidays at www.ibeurope.com/Factfile/44hols.htm It's a Public Holiday in Malta on the 8th September: Feast of our Ladies of Victories. Do we have any crunchers from Malta? If so, please explain. ![]() |
