Thank you, Rob.
GPG key issue has been resolved though, I have realised it is not the actual issue. Now, I get Err http://ppa.launchpad.net vivid/main amd64 Packages 404 Not Found Err http://ppa.launchpad.net vivid/main i386 Packages 404 Not Found Ign http://ppa.launchpad.net vivid/main Translation-en Ign http://ppa.launchpad.net vivid/main Translation-ja W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/gwibber-daily/ppa/ub...ain/binary-amd64/Packages 404 Not Found W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/gwibber-daily/ppa/ub...main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead. for sudo apt-get update. The actual root of the issue is failing to access the packages. What's wrong? |

Frankly I've no idea what ppa those error messages refer to... Have no qwibber anywhere in any repository. Only ever pasted
ppa:costamagnagianfranco/locutusofborg-ppa into the repo add box of Synaptic or Ubuntu Software Centre, and clicked add source, then ran an update/reload. If BOINC is already installed, this one will offer to upgrade the old version to the latest. [7.5.0] |

Rob.
Thank you for your support. I finally could install boinc 7.5.0 and now every things seems to be running fine. No strange behaviour is seen so far. The last step I have missed was to run Ubuntu S/W updator. I do not know why "sudo apt-get update boinc-client boinc-manager" was enough though, the only purpos of this rig is to run boinc so no problem at all. I am very satisfied with [7.5.0]. Kiyo. |

Hello, everyone.
The issue related to updatte the views of BOINC Manager 7.4.x has been cleared by 7.5.0. However, I am experiencing similer issues different issues. I will strongly recommend you to not go to vivid[15.04] and just stay Ubuntu 14.04 + boinc 7.2.42 which is most stable combination if you just run boinc on your machines. Because 7.5.0 is quite different menu hieralky with the boinc prior version, it may also gives you some stresses. How do you feel everytime "Ready te report" status Wu's get reported, your [TASKS] view move to the bottom of the list? Stay on 7.2.42 for a few months. It is my suggestion. Kiyo. |
