I have only one WU running? Has this project run out of WU's?

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers

Hizzoner, there appears to be an accross-the-board issue at the moment with WCG and WU scarcity.

Hopefully one (or more) of the techs will pop by and check/resolve the issue - although with it being the weekend, no one knows as to when this'll be.

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers

I have just been running OET WUs the past few days. At some point this morning, they ran out. I changed to all projects and have still received nothing all afternoon.

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers

Tnx for the info....I have given up using BOINC & will look for research NOT USING THE BOINC S/W & server. Is IBM to blame for this mess. I accumulated 35M+ points and have now left BOINC for good!

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers

Hizzoner, do you not think your actions are a little harsh/reactionary?

WCG has (as has been mentioned numerous times, by various members of this forum), one of the best track records in Distributed Computing (DC) - both in terms of "up" time and also in responsiveness by the technical support staff. Yes, of course, there are outages - nothing is perfect (I've worked in the world of IT for well over 20+ years, and still, to this day, not come across an IT system that doesn't have issues). Thankfully, when we're talking about WCG (and the dedicated IBM staff who run it), these outages/issues are fairly rare.

When we're talking about BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing), this is something totally different to IBM & WCG. Yes, WCG uses the BOINC software, although there are many other DC projects that use it as well. So please don't jump to conclusions and blame BOINC or WCG for any slight issues that arise. I'm sure that this 'blip' is just that - some setting somewhere within the WCG infrastructure that has been mistakenly set/not set. Also, I'm sure that, as soon as the techs discover this issue, it'll be resolved as soon as possible (don't forget, even the techs are human - and thus, are entitled to a little "down" time at weekends).

So, congratulations on accumulating over 35M+ points, and I'm sure that, within a short interlude, you'll be adding more points to that fantastic tally you've amassed. Just think of this as giving all your machines a brief holiday (or even, a chance for you to perform some maintenance/patches/upgrades etc., if required, on your machines).
