Fair point, it's in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary listed as a word, but I kind of wondered about that too. Maybe it's similar to using auto as a noun rather than automobile. In the US we often say "fridge" for refrigerator. It's colloquial, that's my excuse. I don't think it's really an abbreviation. Now, if I try to use bldg - I'd have no argument for that. All that said, I really do enjoy this game!

On further investigation, it would seem not to be an English word, but it is in US English, so valid.
