Thread: Joined a team, but my history didn't roll over into the team. Why? |

So, I have been a member since late 2010, and so far have earned 77,934,826 points, returning 127,404 results, over a total runtime of 58:350:00:54:35. I hadn't realized that there was a Microsoft team that I could have joined, until last night (4.5 years later!), so I joined it about 12hrs ago. However, when I go look at the team 12hrs later, list the team members, and find myself, it looks like I have no contribution to the team whatsoever. Yikes! Do I not bring along my past accomplishments to my team? Will only the work from now on count towards the work done by my team?? That would be a bummer given that my work so far would have placed me 3rd in that team...

Yikes! Do I not bring along my past accomplishments to my team? Will only the work from now on count towards the work done by my team?? That would be a bummer given that my work so far would have placed me 3rd in that team... Stats do not transfer between teams. They stay with the team you were on when the stats were earned. |

See this FAQ - your stats stay with the team you were in when you earned them, they don't move to the new team with you.

But I was on NO team. I was on my own for 4.5 years. Finally now I am on the team I would have been, if I had noticed its existence earlier...

Read the FAQ post. It is a bit sad. I think the user should have the option to do whatever they want with their "personal" points, whether they want to join a team by contributing "zero" initially, or some percentage of their personal points that weren't already produced while joined another team.

Statistics kept on the BOINC stats sites (Free-DC, BOINC Stats, etc) do count your total contribution in your current team. Something to keep in mind is that they post only BOINC credits (1/7 of the WCG Points), they don't record Results Returned or CPU Time.

Rankings in team over at BOINCStats takes all credit earned along, but think [something checked long long time ago] the team total only includes the credit earned since joining a team [same as with WCG]. Might even be BS etc pick up the credit total from the daily WCG export? (Saves a bit of re-computing)

BTW, Base Campers use the 'points stay with the team as earned while a team-member' to hop along and contribute to the various. The My Contribution page at bottom shows a history of how much was earned for each of the teams having been a member of.
