Boinc stops calculating after 10 minutes...

I have 3 systems that mostly go headless and I remote in. 2 are used physical as htpcs here and there, but that is beside the point. I remote in to check their status and the cpu usage pops back up and it continues to calculate. I'll close the remote session and check back 5 minutes later and all is good. I'll close it and try again in an hour and the cpu monitor says it has not been running and the elapsed time only jumps ahead 10 minutes. I have all different versions of boinc with one being the newest so im almost positive that is not it. I checked my settings and so far it hasn't changed on most of the systems.
I am stuck with failed results as result of a time out and have not contributed anything in 2 weeks because of this problem. Anyone else having this issue and if anyone has had it in the past, any advice on how to fix it?
Thanks in Advance.

Re: Boinc stops calculating after 10 minutes...

Think I might have figured it out. My default device profile was set to power saving. Not sure if I checked it off messing around or if it was always selected as that, but changed it and so far with all the tests, they are active for over 20 minutes. Will report back over a long period of time to confirm this.

Re: Boinc stops calculating after 10 minutes...

Yes, some pre-set energy saving profiles have a client pause after inactivity of mouse/keyboard with "Stop work after computer is idle for: nn minutes." The default used to be 20 minutes before BOINC would stop. This allows most OSses to go to sleep if they are too set to power saving. Was told though that for Windows 7 it made no difference if set or not, sleep mode would be entered if the OS was configured to do so after a period of user-idle.

N.B. The setting only exists on the website, not in the client preferences.

Yup, thanks for the reply Rob :).
I must have changed this when I received my last electric bill to play around and forgot that I changed it. I just built my new system this weekend that is 10 times more energy efficient than my old phenom so I will be phasing that out for the difference.
Thanks again for the response and the help.
