I looked for (and could not find) the post related to this post. I wanted to see what the congratulations were for... sad




The server is free about 80/90% of the time, Boinc have been configured to run only when the computer is inactive but I think it will be near all the time! :)

The perf are indeed really impressive FAAH (Vina) Tasks are finished in less than an half hour against approximatively 2 hours on my i7 (laptop). It's not really the same!

I've now 3 computers running Boinc and I was needed a "supervision" for them, I've installed BoincView which is not supported, so I've replace it by "BoincTask" which is quite easy to use and do the job.

It's just a bit hard to understand how configure boinc.exe process to allow remote connexions with password but this subject is really interresting: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Controlling_BOINC_remotely
(Need just some translation, in French for Example :) )

Here in the US, it supposedly was "International Pi Day" today although this year made for a once in a century "International Pi Day Year". Interesting since most of the world doesn't use the US date format needed to make sense of this. Oh well, it was a good excuse for pie.
