As the new technical preview of Windows 10 is available...so I just put it on one of the laptops that I use...

Anyone interested can get on:

Just running a standard WCG version of BOINC...will see how it runs...

Re: Windows 10

At this point I'd be willing to try anything to put a stake through the heart of the undead abomination that is Windows 8.

Re: Windows 10

hi. after 20 year experience with windows I can say win 10 is the best! I started with win 3.1 or ms-Dos on the 386x amd..
I have now 3 pc,s with win 10 on boinc projects and they work excellent. fast like win xp 64bit or better. absolutely nothing in errors , bsod or fail post!!
I hope finely version win 10 will not get any ballast around core..
I hope microsoft will do that- prepaid windows ..exempl. easy win versions will for low money per mont or year an full for more.. problem will again in HW, other hw and same licens.. like now you can do it only on full versions windows..i have one win premium 8 licens for that on main computer now..

For all- is realy better than win 7..just try

Re: Windows 10

I only have one Win7 pc.... the crunchers are happy with Linux.

The way that 10 Tech Preview is collecting data on my usage including anything I write is enough to keep me well away for now.

But I do have a quick question for you guys: How big is the installed OS?

I seem to recall that the latest 7 with all updates is heading for 20Gigs

Re: Windows 10

Is about the same size...I have 24GB taken with some programs & BOINC installed...

And no, it doesn't bother me collecting data...'cause I don't use that system, only test on it! ;)
