What happened to Docking?

Yes, totally irrelevant to WCG but does anyone know what happened to Docking@home? Is it another stealth death?

Re: What happened to Docking?

There's more projects that die because of things as funding, or who whatever other reason. The BOINCStats sidebar shows which projects have active servers, D@H is not in that list anymore, and somewhere else on that site there's a list of 'Retired' projects, which will soon be joined by SIMAP too, so they announced about midway this year.

Re: What happened to Docking?

Docking@Home was officially retired on May 23, 2014. The link to the university site is apparently dead.

PS: SIMAP has approx. 3 days of work left (B@A is doing an AA there now) and it will retire at year end after 10 years of crunching.

Re: What happened to Docking?

On most anything there is a wiki, so too for D@H, where they speak in the past-tense. "The project was retired on May 23, 2014.[1]". and http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=9104

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Docking@Home

Since they ran with the CHARMM engine, there'd be not much trouble to get it hosted at WCG. Once upon a time there was a project here that used this application too.

Re: What happened to Docking?

Thanks! At least they did announce it. Too bad they didn't think to have it show up in BOINC notices. Oh well.

Re: What happened to Docking?

I spent over 14,000 hrs on SIMAP, too.
But I stopped contributing a couple of month ago because I'm concentrating on wcg.
From the view of my computing devices ugm isn't a complete substitute because it has no android application available but with fahv and hopefully soon oet I can continue to use my androids here.
