What you see is entirely as expected, see Robs post above yours. WCG projects are set at different priorities so if you have a number checked then they will arrive in different amounts, either put up with it or manually tune them.

tried manually tuning the systems but this does not make any difference other than they sit idle for long spells
btw - you could be done with a few lessons in manors and attitude adjustment |

I am not having difficulties pulling UGM work. However, I only have CEP2, UGM, and OET selected with CEP2 set for only 1 work unit at a time. (I also have BETA and the option to send work if none of my selected app has work so that my ARM devices can pull FAAH) So, the only one that is tough for me to get with this arrangement is OET, which I do pull a few on. If you wish to support MCM1 while supporting the others, you will have what was described above regarding priority settings server side. Another thing you can try and do to limit the number of MCM1 is to set up an app_config.xml to limit the number of MCM1 apps that will run at any given time. I don't know how well it works here at WCG, but it may help balance things.
----------------------------------------If you want to limit the number of work units that run at a time from a specific project, you can create an app_config with the following parameters: <app_config> <app> <name>name</name> <max_concurrent>N</max_concurrent> </app> </app_config> name obviously is the apps name and N is the number of work units to allow to run at a given time of that specific app. If you are not familiar with where to put them, it is in your BOINC data directory in the WCG folder (Not sure the exact name is without access to one at the moment). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() [Edit 3 times, last edit by Coleslaw at Dec 15, 2014 9:50:07 PM] |

S_MDC_PROJECT... what you are describing is expected. Sekerob's chart explains it but in a nut shell, of the three projects you list, MCM has the highest priority (therefore the highest amount of WUs), after which comes UGM (why you only see a few of these) and at last OET (why you don't see any of these). My suggestions:
----------------------------------------- For time being, forget OET (until the "flex" WUs become available). Unfortunately, you currently really need some babysitting to get these. - To get more UGM WUs, just select only that project (in My Projects or in the Settings->Device Manager) and you will get plenty UGM WUs. If you want 50/50 between MCM & UGM, then you will have to select each project separately once a day (or what ever frequency you decide). For example, one day you crunch UGM and the next day you crunch MCM (or one week one and one week the other). Thanks for crunching ! CJSL Crunching for a brighter future... |
