I need help with errors I'm getting tor Uncovering Genome Mysteries. I'm running WCG on 2 machines. For this project (UGM), one machine is running just fine. On the second machine, I'm getting error for every UGM task. Here's the error message I'm getting for each task on this machine:
<core_client_version>7.2.42</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> couldn't start app: CreateProcess() failed - Access is denied. (0x5) </message> ]]> I've tried re-installing BOINC and resetting the project. What do I need to do to resolve these errors? Thanks! |

It sounds like a permission problem from the start. Can you please give us more details on the system. It sounds like you are running on Windows, but what flavor of windows? Windows 8, 7, xp, etc...
Also, how was the agent installed on your computer? Is this a fresh install and it's having problems or is this something new that is only happening for UGM1? Thanks, -Uplinger |

The machine with the errors is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
I did not do a fresh install, but rather re-installed over existing installation. The version # is no different. Up until UGM1, everything was running perfectly. So, the errors started with UGM1 - each UGM1 task on this machine has returned the same error. Tasks for other projects have been running concurrently with UGM1 and have returned no errors. Thanks for helping me with this. mucho goodo |

So, I reset the permissions for the BOINC files in the ProgramData folder. Am still getting the same Access Is Denied error message. Any suggestions? Thanks

Is your AntiVirus blocking the executables of this new project?

I re-installed my anti-malware package and updated all of the signatures. It seems all is well now. Thanks to everyone who responded.
