biggrin One Million Years of Computing

Sorry if this has been pointed out elsewhere, and I've missed it - feel free to delete this thread if so...

According to the global stats, it seems that in 2 days or so we're going to pass the 'one million years' milestone smile

I guess IBM will make some sort of fanfare for this?

Sorry, and now it won't let me delete it. (To be fair, 'website support' wouldn't have been where I'd have looked for this, and far more people who might be interested are likely to see it in 'chat room', but still).

Re: One Million Years of Computing

Thanks for the tip off alver

A millennia of millennia (I think that's grammatically correct thinking)

It took us a Month to reach the very first thousand years.

A lot of water and a lot of number crunching under the bridge since then.

A whole load of change in almost 10 years.

Keep 'em crunching

Dave

More than my 52! Still, if I worked it out right, my 52 is about the same as me powering the entire grid single-handed for about 5 hours. Can't decide if that makes it seem better or worse. Anyway, 52 years is a lot of computing, 79 is even more. And 1,000,114 is *a lot*. I'm proud to be part of it cool
