Hi all,

After a long absence, I'm dipping my toes back in to WCG. I'm a little worried about the heat that BOINC generates, so I'm starting low and slow. If everything goes smoothly, I'll up the settings.

I think I've set everything to do what I want, when I want... but I want to double-check with you all to make sure that I have the correct settings.

I want to set the BOINC client to:
1 - run while I'm using the computer;
2 - run while the computer is in my blank/black screensaver mode;
3 - suspend when the computer goes to sleep;
4 - run only one task/work unit at a time.

I have customized the Power Saving mode to the following..




FYI, I have absolutely no idea if this machine has a multiple processor or hyper-threading capabilities. I'm not sure exactly how to determine that. I went to Control Panel > Windows Device Manager > Processors. It shows four listings of the exact same thing: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3330 CPU @ 3.00GHZ

I suspect it has something, because BOINC began working on two tasks/work units at a time. I think I fixed that in BOINC's preferences.


I've also copied an old cc_config.xml file into C:\ProgramData\BOINC:
