Is it my system or is there a Server issue preventing new Projects for my computer? I"m getting workunits for all three projects. |

Hi SolarMike, you're going to have to help us out a little here...
----------------------------------------What are you meaning by "no new projects"? no new Work Units (WU's), and if so, which project(s) have you got selected? If there really was an issue with the servers, then I'm sure more people would be reporting issues - thus, I think we can narrow the issue down to your particular configuration. Thus, it would help if you restarted your BOINC session and pasted into this thread the first 30ish lines, so that we can see your set-up/any error messages that are appearing. As for "new projects", the last new project, was MCM1 approx. 10 months ago in November 2013. Yes, at least one new project is coming through the testing process, although (as far as I'm aware), there really has only been 1 Beta round so far. ![]() |

Projects means Work Units. I process Cancer Markers; Clean Energy and Beta.

You had better check your setting! You are not getting any work as it says you do not need any, which means that for what ever reason your setting say you do not require any work.

.......further it could be your Climate Prediction Project. That is well known for grabbing all the work. Suspend that project and see the effect

Means most probably wcg has had it's fair share, project weight based', and now it's the turn for your other project/projects. As soon as those have caught up likely is that wcg will be asked again. Also don't need could mean that with present work the work buffer is full. Cpdn tasks count for a lot of time, so they easily fill the cache. Newer agents specify why there's a 'don't need', but there are diagnostics settings to see the balance. Go to the projects view in the agent, select wcg and hit the properties button on left. If the scheduling priority value is negative, no work is needed. If there's a scroll bar on right, expand the window downward to see more. Make a screenshot if you like and post it. In short, think it's just a question of letting your other projects do their thing and then wcg will get it's turn again. Project balancing is not daily, it's over a longer period. |
