Re: Have very slow WU # FAHV_x3VQ7_IN_LEDGFa_rig_0220728_0005

I've got four FightAids@home Vina7.32 tasks running and they have all been running for over 22 hours CPU time, with one as high as over 26.26 hours at 91% with over 2.06 hours to go and my points have been way-down also for the past 10 days or so.

Re: Have very slow WU # FAHV_x3VQ7_IN_LEDGFa_rig_0220728_0005

I also have very slow FAHV runs taking 40 hours + with a benefit of only 64.8 points even though the time taken is genuine CPU time rather than elapsed time. The real problem is that these long WUs delay other WUs which then run the risk of reporting late. I am normally 2 days or more ahed with my WUs e.g. crunching WUs due on 30th Sept when the current date is 27th Sept. Now everything is running high priority and I still have 2 WUs to complete that are timed for expiry at 07:00 this morning (now 18:16 UTC). This really needs to be fixed.

Things are so gunged up, now computing tasks of 4-6 hours on android, but the feeder is now 'serving' average run time projections of the long once, 24 hours to completion. Though buffer is set to 1 day, nothing is being buffered.

Re: Have very slow WU # FAHV_x3VQ7_IN_LEDGFa_rig_0220728_0005

Greetings,
Will one of you learned crunchers tell me if I can choose to run either, but not both Vina or Autodock? If not I must discontinue aids research as it is causing havoc with my little farm.

Cheers

Re: Have very slow WU # FAHV_x3VQ7_IN_LEDGFa_rig_0220728_0005

In the absence of a sensible solution I have decided to ABORT all FAHV WUs until I can be sure they are not going to take a ridiculously long time to crunch for a ridiculously low credit.

No, you are basically stuck with both unless you want to micromanage and abort the ones you do not want. Otherwise you are stuck with both. It has been asked of the techs for a way to only one or the other, but so far this is pretty far down their priority list.

Re: Have very slow WU # FAHV_x3VQ7_IN_LEDGFa_rig_0220728_0005

I've noticed all the really long runtime wu's have the letters " rig " in the file name. I just received another one of these work units, and without pause, commenced to hit the Abort button. My average of 113 pts/hr, with 42 Hrs of runtime should be more in the ball park of 4700 points, not the measly 66.2 points awarded. crying

Re: Have very slow WU # FAHV_x3VQ7_IN_LEDGFa_rig_0220728_0005

I think the problem fore to big file sizes was not complete solved.
On 21/09 around 11u45 , there was the announcement the problem was solved for ALL work units coming out.
I received multiple WU's after this point with error_code 131 (before I didn't).

<error_code>-131</error_code>
</file_xfer_error>

good for 34 hours of CPU time.

</file_xfer_error>

good for 44 hours of CPU time.

I have another running now for 27 hours => 82% completed
FAHV_x3ZSO_B_IN_Y3b_rig_0227477_0062
My wing-man has reported without error, 36 hours CPU time and only 87.8 point claimed. Just the same as my 2 error'd results.

To day I let new work come in and that's running fine (20 min for 38% completion).

Sheers,
Erwin

The -131 error was fixed just before my post on Sept 21, 23:15 UTC. However, these limits are set when the work unit is sent out by the BOINC server. The two work units you referenced above were sent out on Sept 21, 16:40 UTC and Sept 21, 11:16 UTC so they would have had the lower limit and could still get the -131 error even though they were completed after my post. Keep in mind the timestamps in the forum can be set to something other than UTC which might cause confusion.

That's a lot of cpu time sad Unfortunately that one was also sent out before the fix for -131 errors.
