----------------------------------------Come Oct/Nov 2014, you might also be swamped with Completed years crunching for WCG - 10 year anniversary ![]() Well we have the first Viktors (WCG Tech staff) signed up Sept 20 2004 before WCG went public. User moose joined on the same day (presumably another IBM staffer) but only crunched until early 2005. As to how many of those who signed up in the early days are still crunching and participate in the forum I'll analyse the First 5,000 Registered Members and report back. |

Moose was the mainstay at UD Grid and was instrumental in assisting IBM to start running the old UD version. Moose was one of the few at UD who was willing to talk to the users, I supposed once he had IBMup and running WCG he left and went back to UD, who were based in Austin.

What you're doing is both interesting and great fun to read, thanks. It's selfless efforts like yours that contribute to making a forum into a community. |

Two new 5-year beta badges is amazing. I didn't even reach 3 with this last batch.

I'd forgotten that I'd already looked at this back in June 2013. It doesn't paint a very good picture 5,000 members had signed up by November 16 2004 but by 2013 only 571 were still crunching. Unfortunately this was compiled using screenscrapes which no longer function so it will take some work to update. |

Been watching this thread with some interest for a while. So I noticed that somehow the 10 year globe update isn't on your list. At least mine wasn't.

@ KWSN - A Shrubbery
----------------------------------------Apologies! I have to screen-scrape SNURKS Signature Ranking List to identify which of the ~1,400 members I survey have Globe Sigs. From this I get KWSN - A Shrubbery - The Knights Who Say Ni! I then eliminate the team name by searching for " - " in the text string. In your case this fails because it eliminates - A Shrubbery - The Knights Who Say Ni It follows that it will also affect any User with a Team and a hyphen "- " in their User name. Thanks for taking the time to point out the error. I'll work on putting it right. [edit] The original post has been corrected and the script changed to, hopefuly, prevent a reccurrence. There was only one other user who could potentially have been affected. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by jonnieb-uk at Oct 2, 2014 2:22:55 PM] |
