MORE THAN 24 HRS SINCE RECEIVED NEW WORK. ON MAPPING CANCER I CAN USUALLY GET WORK IMMEDIATELY. IS THERE A SERVER PROBLEM OR IS THERE NO NEW WORK.

SolarMike, to help diagnose the problem, please paste the first 50 lines from your Event Log after a reboot (in BOINC 7, Advanced - Event Log) into a reply.
Like Scribe, I'm not experiencing a problem with receiving new work - I've just downloaded lots of MCM and FAAH. |

Hi Tony
Thanks for you help. Do you mean I should reboot my PC or stop/start BOINC? |

Exactly. Reboot your PC, open the Boinc program, click "Advanced/Event Log" and copy the first 50 lines or so. Then paste them here in a reply. The information there will help show where the problem is.

Climate Prediction is notorious for hogging everything. Change your workshare to give WCG much more. Boinc believes that WCG has had its share probably and is only requesting Climate

Let's insert some knowledge into the comment, app_config allows to control how many of a specific app to run and the next client allows to control at project level, meaning total if a project has more apps. In short, anti hog features have been in place for quite some time, for those that read the manuals
---------------------------------------- . The wcg recommended client has that functionalityPs, the 50 event log lines might not be enough as the key is to see the actual work request after hitting the update button on the projects screen of the boinc manager, some extra log lines helping to see more debug detail. The latest agents, at least from 7.3.18 testing, have a simple tick box screen to choose which log tags to activate. It's called 'event log diagnostic flags' which can be activated on windows with ctrl+shft+f (Highlighted several words. The whole boot sequence is not required, worse, it can lead to loss of hours of computing time such as on cpdn and cep2) [Edit 3 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 1, 2014 1:48:43 PM] |
