(it's hard with 5 letters, the game might get stuck without reaching the goal, wouldn't 4 be easier?)

When I asked about reordering, I meant "Can we change the order of the letters within the previous word to make the new word?" It seems we can, in which case:
males -> smile which is the target word. No? If so, and I'm finally understanding what we're trying to do here, then the next target = STORY new word = EVENT |

I knew someone would win after I posted 'males'. I would have rather waited a turn and I would have won.

Thank-you for letting me win, jr1. Actually one could equally argue that part of the fun is trying to stay two steps away from the target word for as long as possible.  RIVET |
