FAHV error -131 (file size too big)

I've just experienced an unusual error in one of my results. I'm mentioning it in case a file size limit adjustment is needed. I did have a reboot during the workunit (for the Windows Update), but I did a controlled shutdown of BOINC beforehand and the Result Log doesn't show anything unusual for the reboot. Other FAHV running at the same time have completed as Valid. It'll be interesting to see how the repair job fares, but for now this is my Result Log. The machine is an i7-4770K running Win8.1 64-bit.

Re: FAHV error -131 (file size too big)

Thanks, AgrFan, it's good to know it's not just me, but it does look as if some attention by the techs is required, unfortunately. I've had a total of 4 workunits error this way now, on 2 machines.

Re: FAHV error -131 (file size too big)

Compare the logs and notice that 7.2.47 gives a more expanded error description <error_code>-131 (file size too big)</error_code> than 7.0.27 with <error_code>-131</error_code>. Worth upgrading to the latest recommended version, no more looking up what the error code means, either the 32 bit offered here or the 64 bit offered at berkeley, for the 'pure' systems. It makes though zero difference which of the two, as the agent will still pull 64 bit science applications if available even though the agent might be 32 bit. The agent has no effect on the processing speed of the sciences. Here they only offer a wcg skinned 32 bit version for backward compatibility, trying to avoid confusion, which creates confusion for those that have question as to the why. laughing

Re: FAHV error -131 (file size too big)

I got one of those too. I was waiting for someone else to say something and/or for my wingman to return his/her result.

I notice that the run time for this WU (6.32 hours) is about double the average RT for other FAHV WUs. Edit: And on further examination, all the tasks in the WU seem to be much longer than normal -- there is not one task that stands out for length.

I've just seen the first instance of a wingman returning a result on one of my erroring WUs - the wingman's result gave the same error.
I notice that the run time for this WU (6.32 hours) is about double the average RT for other FAHV WUs.
I agree with that. And there are 140 tasks within each erroring WU. However, all the FAHV WUs I've looked at have that huge number at the moment, and most are giving a Valid result.
Let's hope a member of the WCG Team responds to this thread shortly.
