My dual core can no longer get a cache of CEP2 units which I need as that machine is not connected to the internet 24/7. I cannot get another unit until the current one has finished. I used to have a few days cache. Just 1 spare would suffice.
My setting is for "Unlimited" downloads which I have checked. I suspect it may be because I have been getting the occasional message saying I don't have the necessary 2.56 GB RAM. I do have 3 GB but I think the test is actually using more than the 440 MB spare so it is self-defeating. Most of the time it was crunching 2 units simultaneously without problem. Does anyone have any suggestions, please? I did try running a MCMC1 alongside but found too many were being downloaded and I finished up crunching 2 MCM1 at a time instead. I installed a routine (app_config) to prevent that but it means that I only crunch 1 unit once my CEP2 unit has finished. Mike ![]() |

Hello Mike.Gibson,
It sounds as though it thinks that too little memory is available. I can't guess what it thinks your memory is dedicated to. Perhaps there is a clue in the Event Log description of your system? Lawrence |

Try a reboot to clear any 'lost' memory

Thanks for the replies.
To answer both of you, I have re-booted since the last relevant message, so there is no message available and yes I have tried the reboot. Mike |

Maybe the percentage of RAM WCG is allowed to use in your device profile set on the website is to low?

Mike Did wcg increase memory requirements without updating the help system requirement page? This is what presently shows: The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 1,024 MB 2,048 MB Windows1,5, Mac1,5, Linux1,5 2gb, not 2.56gb. If you have restarted the agent you can still find the log in the data directory, printed at the beginning of the agent event log. The file is called stdoutdae.txt. Copy the warning lines and post them here. |

Thanks for the replies, guys.
Yarensc - The % is set to 90/95 so that shouldn't be the problem. lavaflow - I found that file but the last entry in it was for October 2012. Yes, it would seem that the requirements must have increased without updating the requirement page - helpful! Mike |

Yes, this is the problem I have encountered when running CEP2 and the reason I have been able to run only 4-5 concurrent tasks on my octo rig - 60 GB SSD full of Windows and CEP2's

Mike There's a difference with what you wrote in the opening post, about memry aka ram and diskspace, which is the actual issue. You may want to free up some or check your serrings for how much you allow the agent to use. |
