The challenge of this project also makes it more fun. :) 120Mb Cable sorts the internet connection and a standard HDD for storage. I have the 'write to disk' option set to 300 seconds, that reduces the disk activity a lot...

58 concurrent? What machine is that, a Quad Xeon ? Not Xeon, but quad processor AMD 16 core, 64 total with shed loads of RAM!

120Mb Cable sorts the internet connection and a standard HDD for storage. I have the 'write to disk' option set to 300 seconds, that reduces the disk activity a lot... I'm pretty sure that CEP still does not respect the "checkpoint to disk" settings (but I reserve the right to be wrong). Just keep an eye on the results status for errors/invalids. In my case I picked up a few used 64gb Intel X25-E ssds. These have the proven endurance for a high level of writes. This drive has sustained 185 terabytes of writes over the past 10 months with 16 work-units. At this rate the drive will last well over 10 years.
