Optimal temperature setting in Android BOINC.

Hello all,

I was just wondering if there is a safe temperature setting so that the phone would not be damaged by WCG projects. The standard setting is 40C, but I thought that it is too high so I moved it down to 35C.

Does anyone have insight if that is still going to damage the battery from the heat? I have the HTC one M8 so my batter is internal instead of being easily switched out.

Thank you

Re: Optimal temperature setting in Android BOINC.

I've got the same question. I've been searching the internet trying to find safe battery temperature ranges for the Nexus 5, but no one seems to be posting that info anywhere.

I was running into a lot of errors with the official BOINC app, so I'm now running on NativeBOINC which had a default temp limit set at 60C. I lowered that to 45C but that's just a guess at max temp.

Re: Optimal temperature setting in Android BOINC.

Hi ravenigma, I had the same concerns about mine when I ran native boinc. I am using the HTC power to give app. So far it seems to be doing okay but the temp is also max 60. My concern is that since I can't remove the battery easily then it could break my phone in the long run.
