Runtime milestones report ========================= RT reached 333 years of runtime Not everyone may notice this small detail but this means the RT is one third of the way to his first MILLENNIUM of crunching! Thanks Keith. I have 3 machines shut down due to the heat. For a while there, it was 4 machines and my Kindle shut down. Not sure what I will do for these next few hot months. I want to run as much as possible but hate the electric bill. I would also like to get a billion points, but that is a ways off, probably not as far away as the 1000 years though. Everyone have a great day and Thank You for what you do. |

My laptop is definately dead... :( I'm seeing to buy a Dell Precision M4800 Or 6800 with an i74700MQ that will be crunching more faster than my older i7 (2670QM). I think I Will buy 5 year of support in order to keep it more longer than my previous laptop who just "survive" 2 years.. I will keep you informed when it will be ordered :) Ouch! Sorry to hear that Pierre. Here's hoping the new one goes the five years trouble-free! No problem! I can't buy a new Dell Precision (It will be a new professionnal computer so I can't choose the budget..). The new computer will be a Dell Inspiron 17R with only 1 year of support... But if this one death, it will be replaced by my organisation.. New CPU Will be an i7 4500U (which is worse than my previous one.. :( ) The computer will be ordered tommorow (I think) and I will receive it in 2 or 3 week (long delay with Dell Europe..) This is a bit surprising to me. My experience with laptops is that they generally last 3 to 5 years if you remember to clean out the dust every few months. I have seen several no-name laptops fail in less than 2 years. - D I usually keep my laptop 3 years at least, but since now 5 years I'm using my laptop approximatively 10 hours a day and they don't liked.. I've cleaned the dust really frequently and I've never had overheating problem.. I really hope I could keep the new laptop at least 3 years.. The estimated delivery date is june 24... it's really long :(  |
