With the BOINC project suspended my CPU usage was about 15%.
Then when I resumed BOINC, CPU usage goes up to 100% even though I set the limit in the device settings at 40%. Is this a known problem? How can I limit the BOINC cpu usage? |

Make sure for the run based on preferences selection in the activity menu. Else, 40% means pause 3 seconds, run 2, the cooldown phase as the only purpose this control exist. This would be glaringly visible in your task manager performance view. The choice solution is a utility called tthrotle. It can be set to slow down the agent when things get warmer than the temp ceiling you enter for cpu and gpu

I think it's because of the Hyperthreading. I suspended all tasks except one (usually it runs 2 on HT) and I could see the pauses, but everytime the cpu paused, the other core on HT would do the work instead. So I might just disable HT and see.
